How to Claim a Lottery Prize

 

You will need the following to claim a prize
at a Lottery office (more than $600):

1. Your winning ticket(s)

It is important to sign the back of your ticket to establish your ownership of the ticket. Without a signature on the back, a lottery ticket is considered a "bearer instrument" and can be claimed by anyone presenting the ticket.

2. Signed Photo Identification

Acceptable forms of signed photo identification include:

  • Driver's License
  • Mass ID
  • Passport
  • Work ID
  • Military ID

3. Proof of your Social Security Number

Acceptable forms of proof of Social Security Number include:

  • Driver's License with Social Security Number
  • Social Security Card (signed)
  • Health Insurance Card
  • Medicare Card
  • Military ID

4. Proof of current address

Acceptable forms of proof of current address include:

  • Driver's License
  • Utility or Credit Card bill
  • Car Registration
  • Bank
  • Check with Address

Prizes up to and including $600 may be claimed at any Lottery Agent Location or Lottery Office.
To Claim a Prize of more than $600 you must visit a Lottery Office to claim your prize.
For prizes of $50,000 or more, you must visit Lottery Headquarters in Braintree.

There are Lottery Offices in Braintree, Springfield, Woburn, Worcester, Fairhaven, Boston and Natick.

The Lottery requires proof of identification on all claims of more than $600.
