When Edward C. Williams went to Bhau Mark to buy his favorite Red Sox Lottery ticket, the store was temporarily out of the $10 game. Williams decided to try his luck at the Boston Red Sox Limited Edition World Series Ticket and bought three of the $20 tickets.

He scratched the first one and won $20. And when he scratched the second one, he won $1 million in an instant. He still hasn’t scratched the third ticket.

Majid Farah of Dedham won $10,000 in the second-chance contest held to mark the historic 1,000,000th KENO drawing. All non-winning KENO tickets sold yesterday were automatically entered into a second-chance drawing as part of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s celebration of its 1,000,000th draw milestone.

Farah, who bought his ticket at the White Hen Pantry on Centre Street in West Roxbury, received his check for $10,000 at Lottery headquarters in Braintree today.

His KENO ticket was randomly selected by serial number from all tickets sold yesterday. The other lucky winner of $10,000 has not yet come forward to claim the $10,000 prize.
