Winston Lloyd of Hyde Park is the winner of a $1 million Powerball prize after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the game’s Wednesday, August 16 drawing.

Lloyd, who chose his numbers randomly, claimed his $1 million prize (before taxes) Tuesday, August 22 at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He plans to use some of his winnings to help families in his community.

He purchased his ticket at Home Market, 165 Belgrade Ave. in Roslindale. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
